In response to EOI requirements outlined by CEWA (Catholic Education WA), Carabiner’s design response presented a school masterplan and concept that is bright, open, stimulating, adaptable and welcoming; conducive to fostering a life long love of learning. CEWA’s faith centric education model shone through the design, providing a common throughline in the development of the concept’s built fabric and configuration.

We recognised the need to incorporate a variety of learning environments from highly collaborative zones, to focused areas of self reflection and concentration. The design considered connection to the local community, and celebrated the site’s bushland setting, using sustainable, passive design principles where possible, making use of natural light and ventilation. Classrooms were configured to bring together opportunities for indoor and outdoor learning.

The masterplan included staged, separable portions.
