Civic buildings meeting key community needs

Law and Order

WA’s justice buildings are required to serve many functions, (jury assembly, administration, public meeting place, media broadcasting, and secure holding to name a few).

Carabiner’s law court projects are universally accessible, sustainable, and provide a professional and enduring civic identity. We remain aware that users of these buildings are sometimes vulnerable or in challenging circumstances, and the design responds to suit a range of different stakeholders, from legal professionals, general public and law enforcement.

Police and Fire Stations

Police & Fire Stations have unique requirements like additional security (for vehicles & personnel), and familiarity of layout between sites, allowing officers to adapt easily.

Carabiner have designed and delivered many such buildings for Government agencies and WAPOL, both in metro and regional areas. We often work within tight timeframes, or are required to implement strategies to minimise disruption within existing live operational sites for these critical services.

Libraries

Like the living room of the community, libraries bring together people from all walks of life, cultures, and beliefs.

Libraries boost literacy and learning, provide free access to resources and technology, and enable use of the internet and computers for those who do not have them at home or lack confidence in their use. Libraries provide a place of welcoming and connection and are comfortable public spaces for people to read, relax, work or study.
