"As a Principal that has never been part of a new school before, I didn’t really know what to expect. I was very grateful to have Carabiner as the architects because at every step of the way, they included me, they kept me informed.. I felt very valued.. and clearly they know how to build beautiful schools and facilities.

A proven track record

We work closely with State and Local Government, as well as independent schools, to deliver education facilities that continue to perform well - enduring and performing many years after the final brick is laid.

We follow the latest Government building code and reporting requirements for public buildings; TG040, which guide key sustainability principles such as waste management, energy use and water efficiency.

We know schools

A school that is bright, open, stimulating, adaptable and welcoming is the most conducive to fostering a love of learning. It is a place where social barriers can be overcome and life-long friendships can be forged.

Just as importantly, we keep the needs of Teachers and faculty at the forefront of our thinking. Ensuring supervision, sight lines, safety and the latest learnings in education design inform our decisions.

We design facilities that support and empower Teachers.

Ongoing Communication

The needs of every school are different, there is no one size fits all approach. The Carabiner team are committed design partners, who work hard to develop design solutions that reflect and support the visions and aspirations of each school and their community.

We do this by really listening to you and your team, and incorporating the feedback we receive to design a school that reflects the needs of its stakeholders.

“The process was characterised by clear, open and respectful communication and collaboration, and opportunities for input as well as the provision of professional advice and technical skill in shaping the school for maximum value for our students, within constraints of the project budget and design brief. Wherever possible, Carabiner included and consulted, and made changes based on feedback. They were also very skilled at understanding the essence or taking inspiration from our conversations, and coming up with solutions, finishes or inclusions that added a touch of magic.”
