Our challenge was to combine a multitude of uses, while minimising costs and ensuring specific sporting code requirements were met. The project included an upgraded home-base and oval for the East Fremantle Sharks, a 500-capacity grandstand, clubrooms, bowls club and greens, croquet club and greens, fitness studios, cafe and community spaces.

Inspired by the nearby Swan River, the main building’s geometry flows around the community activities and sports that it services. The design, subtle as first glance, is revealed in layers, intensifying to activate the heart of the precinct. One of the planning successes is the multi-purpose Function Centre which ties seamlessly into the Lawn Bowls club and the Football Oval.
